One Good Word

“One good word is enough warmth for the whole winter.”     Arab Proverb

So, I have overwhelmingly SUBSTANTIAL doubts about just the ONE word sufficing for the WHOLE winter, even with our weeklong winters here in Florida.  What I am exceedingly sure about is that one word, one smile, one word of compassion, is the balm that our shared human condition aches for.

“Kindness gives birth to kindness.”   Sophocles

“Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”   Mother Teresa

“Kind words do not cost much. Yet they accomplish much.”  Blaise Pascal

Kind words, kind looks, kind acts and warm handshakes, these are means of grace when men in trouble are fighting their unseen battles.   John Hall

Kind words are a creative force, a power that concurs in the building up of all that is good, and energy that showers blessings upon the world.”  Lawrence G. Lovasik

“Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. “  Plato

This video reminds us of the silent “human” battles we all face.  Let us all remember that just a smile or a kind word could very well be the act that encourages someone to not “throw their hand.”

How very true and how often the most well intended person “doesn’t” take the time for that quick good word or deed. Thanks for reminding everyone.
